[QUOTE=1-5-3-6-2-4;2989493]Yes exactly. Pulling the drain kills the crankcase pressure. Condems the turbo not the engine.

Sure would make me happier if it was the turbo not the engine. And that would explain why it gradually got worse, I guess.

You are supposeds to plug the hole. Then you remeasure ccp, without the turbo added. You can pull this info straight out of the trouble shooting section of the cummins service manual.

Ccp is intended to be measured in parallel to the vent. You can't measure it from the vent, if that seals it up. That will give you false readings.

I would start with do a leakdown test and a compression test. Both fairly easy test to do. How much blow-by you getting?

Just throwing this out but are the injector retainer tight and the injector sealing? Seen them leak and cause blow-by issues.

I have an CR engine ready for the machine shop, I planning on going with the marine 480 pistons and run 03 injectors. Less engine issues running that combo. Have a 12V ready for assembly, just waiting on pistons to arrive from Harry.

Don't give me grief, give it to Mike and Brett. They never had me sign a non-disclosure agreement! Maybe they will be more careful about that sort of thing in the future.

I always thought it was an unspoken agreement that anything that was seen or heard about at ASW was obviously top secret and never to be discussed in public...

As some of you may recall I was having fun with an 00' Ram about 18 months ago. Its baaaaaaack
I cannot get any movement on the wastegate. There is black oily residue all over the turbo inlet. The shaft seems tight and it spins fine. The wastegate should move if I try to move it at the exhaust housing correct?
The hose from the wastegate was split too.

I am thinking that its time to replace this turbo...and we will need it yesterday.
What is a good bolt on?

P.S. sorry for the hijack...sort of.

Sounds like the turbo is fine, the wastegate just needs a little love, but if you are getting rid of it, we can always use more turbo's...

How big do you want to go?

That 64mm turbo of Tate's is one of my favorite single turbo's. 62mm was too close to stock, 66mm well let's just say if I lived at sea level it would be okay, around here not my cup of tea.

What kind of love does the wastegate need? Tough love?
This truck still has the stock exhaust. Do not want to stray too far from stock and straight bolt on. Owner needs to know what this will cost.

Ya hopefully I get one of the first test drives. Been curious on how twins and an exhaust brake works vs. my 2010 6.7L VGT, cause if it works out, I'm going to a 5in pac-brake. Sure hate the heck out the stock HE351VGT 6.7L turbo. I want really REALLY want something more fun on the truck.

I'll know next time not to say a word.

We'll see if anyone says anything about my surprise before the official unveiling.
