Tranny trouble

So im posting this for a friend. So he was driving along the other day and all of a sudden his 93 Dodge 2500 ext cab LB cummins with a 5spd made a big bang. So now we are on the hunt for a transmission for him. If anyone has any information on a transmission, let me know location adn price. He is wanting one ASAP as his is not rebuildable. Let me know if you have any leads on one.

Thanks

Kiel

Apparently you can do a conversion to the newer NV tranny with some minor work if that helps.

nv4500 is spendy you need to either get all the sec gen gear or buy adapter From Advanced adapter most of the wreckers are gouging huge Dodger i will have one soon (getrag ) i am doing the conversion to nv4500
there is a getrag that need work on kijji i think it is 500 but hard to find reputable rebuilder

phone me Dodger i may be able to talk to nother guy see what he has 403-669-1074. there is a member on here to winkdemon who may have a line on somthing ASAP
The boys over on the Calgary jeep forum have huge package that was going into a jeep but the nv4500 may be a fit to just phone it is easier to point in right direction

Getrags are tricky, they need to be shimmed properly. lotta tranny shops I have talked to will not warranty them. when you ask them if they know about the shim issues, they say there isn't any problems.... have to really trust the shop to rebuild it or the rag will eat itself up
I know one shop that built the same tranny 5 times and still couldn't get it right.
There is a guy on the 1 st gen thread in here who used to work in the engineering with dodge and getrag look him up mysteryman I think that is his Tag
