Tranny shops

Hey guys just wondering who you guys use for your tranny issues. A guy I know sounds like he has to put some cash into his tranny so I was just wondering if there is any good shops in central Alberta. He wasn't willing to spend 10 grand on one like mine so I'm looking for some suggestions. Thanks.

NADP has a decent one.
If he is looking to rebuild his then Excell transmssion in Red Deer is pretty good.
I had mine 48re done for $3700 out the door.

Excell Transmission in Red Deer x2. Talk to Mel, he has treated a couple members here really well and won't take you to the cleaners.

If he does use Excell in Red Deer, make sure he is up front with Mell about what he plans on doing with his tranny. It makes a difference as to what parts he install.

I pushed hard on Mel to give up his vendor for the parts he uses. He wouldn't budge. But if you have a particular vendor in mind, he seemed open to using their parts if you want it. I think being upfront would be the ticket for anything of this sort. Saving bucks and under building the tranny would just make everyone unhappy.

No problem, I'll tell him to phone Excell and talk to Mel and to be as specific as possible. Thanks for the help.

For sure Mel. He's a close friend of mine. My truck goes in tomorrow for the full meal deal. Just make sure and tell him what you want to achieve or else it might get underbuilt. Mel is the man..........

I was told when I bought the truck used that it had a NADP tranny in it but I'm pretty sure the guy was full of you know what!!! Mel pulled it apart today and it was as stock as stock could be!!!

Oh well, at least I know it will be done right and complete billit from front to rear. That's what happens when you buy used I guess...

For a 2007 48RE it's around $6000.00-7000.00 but that's for the complete billit deal. You can spend way more too. Depends on how strong you want it..

For you're 1993 it should be much cheaper...
