Thanks Kev

For the use of your shop, tools and install help over the weekend.
Heres a run down for the crew on what we did:
We put on that Source Auto o-ringed, ported and polished head that came from Pure diesel power back in Nov. 2008.
Also put in a home ground 100 plate as I was plateless for a while. That was the AFC foot we put back in as well Kev....

Put in that new lift pump I got from Freightliner Jason, and now get about 35 psi. Up from about 27 max before.

Thanks for the intake gasket and oil as my new oil had water in it from sitting in the box of the truck. I owe you one.

On day one I rigged up a copper coil drive pressure guage. Maybe you could post that picture Kev when you have time. I recorded 74 psi prior to the head install. That is with about 45 psi boost.
I'll wait for a retorque and then I'll bump the timing to 19*.

Put in those 2 little springs that convert a 3k gsk to a 4.

Notes on the A1 stud install: I should have bottom tapped the holes. the studs stick up an 1/8 to 1/4" in the valve covers so we just drilled 'em out, dremeled and siliconed 'em for now.

When I loosen them to retorque I'll try to sink them down a little more. They're set at 125 now as per instruction sheet.

Thanks to Kelly for keeping me well fed during the weekend. Just barely made that plane, it arrived at Chip at 7 and leaves Mac at 6

OOPPs,, well at least you made it,, thank goodness you left early.

No problem on the tools and shop, my pleasure. It is fun learning new stuff, I want to learn more about ppumps and that kind of stuff, no better way to do it than hands on in my opinion!

PS,, should have my new engine next week

Still got that coil pic handy?
Can't wait until that gasket is fully seated and I can romp on it!
Found some nice little vent plugs for the valve covers here at home. I'll bring a 1" hole saw too. You must have a set of feeler guages?

Anyone know Hot valve specs. I understand they're different from the 10 and 20 thou cold valve specs.

I am going to buy a new set of feeler guages, my old ones are unuseable now, too rusted up.. I have hole saws though, no problem there, and I will have feeler guages by then
