Suppliers in Edmonton, even Alberta question.

Well gents, if plans go right, this week I should be finalizing prep for parts required, and starting my AD150 install next Saturday afternoon. Yes, I have it narrowed down to there because I need the truck for a work function in the morning.

Because I have some funky....er....different plans for install, I need to find:

- a plug for the OEM fuel line to the CP3
- some 3/4" diesel rated fuel line to do the tank vent mod at the same time
- 2-3 feet of 1/2" I.D. plastic diesel immersible fuel line (corrugated tube preferred, but not necessary)
- 3/4" 90* brass or SS bulkhead fitting for the tank vent mod
- various sized SS hose clamps
- various barbed 1/2" brass or SS fittings
- diesel rated thread tape
- spare water separator and 2 micron fuel filters for the AD150

I pretty sure I can source out individual items from when I consider where I got parts for past projects. However, if anyone knows and can share some one or two stop shopping suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. I don't feel like driving all over the city after work all week.

Since you said Alberta, I'll throw out Ability Hose in Calgary. They could probably get you everything you need except for the water seperator.

Skip the teflon tape, get something like Loctite 567, its a thread sealant. You won't have bits of tape getting into your fuel that way.

For your plug for the CP3, are you plugging it at the fuel filter? If so, it will be a straight metric thread. Go get a non-coated metric bolt (likely 10mm) and a crush washer and use that to plug it up. You won't need anything fancy.

Gotcha guys. I got some hydrocarbon fluid compatible pipe dope from Advance Tank awhile back - I think it's Loctite brand even - have read up on the diesel part.

Tate, thanks. Edmonchuck would be best, but I'll keep them in mind. I'm not plugging it right at the filter canister. I want to blow the lines clear both upstream and downstream of the canister, put in fresh filter, leave clear, and plug the OE supply line right off the CP3 and just zip tie to the side while the AD supply line and fitting goes on the CP3. This way, if anything happens at all to the AD, all I have to do is reconnect the wire for the OEM pump, prime the system, reconnect the line back onto the CP3, and let the OE system get me out of trouble - as much as the truck doesn't look it, it does go way the heck NW of Grande Cache, among other places, hunting and fishing - usually takes us 4 hours chained up one way from the highway to camp - I would feel better with the ability to have a backup in 20 min. or less - no cell service in there.

Are you offering to help? You should see me with wood.

In all fairness, I do have a bit of an idea on what I'm doing after repairing the install of a couple buddies' FASS systems that a local shop botched, but I'm going far beyond the normal install on my own truck.

Ahhh yes..........no comment other than it was ugly, but got done nonetheless.

I wonder if Traction or Fort Garry Industries carry stuff like all this?

Festus, theres a hose place in the westend next to Princess Auto - RedL I believe it is.

As well Edmonton Valve and Fitting carries Swagelok fittings, but they will be $$

Acklands or Gregg distributers will also carry a fair bit of stuff.

Are you sure you want 3/4" fittings?

check out Princess Auto. They seem to carry alot of fittings and things.
I even found 1/2" diesel rated hose at the one here in Red Deer. The Edmonton one is much better.
They use to have the through bulkhead fittings for boats, they would work well for your vent mod.

Funny, I just re-did my oil line for the S300 with a hose made there. Not proud of it, but stainless braid is pretty pricey..
