Just watched the news, looks like the weather should be pretty decent for the GTG. I wouldn't mind doing some good old diesel chin wagging. Might give me a reason to wash the beasty.

So true buddy. We been doing a few mini GTG's in my garage during the nice days. Yesterday we did some P pump tweaking. The more I get to work on the P pump, the more I want one on my truck. So much more fuel there than a VP.

The mini-GTG's kinda just happen some days. Been a fun/good way of enjoying the old garage. Still learning on how to do timing on the P pump. I have three motors and probably a dozen turbo sitting in my garage. Some day hopefully we can get them all to run again, as each engine has a plan to be used at some point. The 01 24v, engine, I just want to see how much power and determine the limits on a near stock 24V engine. Kinda like the way Kev found outwith his last engine.

Sure, you coming to the GTG? How complete is it? Do I get any of your old parts?
We are in the early process of putting together a ford fabbed housing 9in axle for a 2wd truck. Should be a fun process, building it right from scratch.
There are some sweet looking fabbed 9in front axle units these days, you can order them in different tube sizes and tube thickness. You can get them in a wide range of spline counts and with king pins. Maybe this winter I would like to build-up my dream front axle for the 02 ride. So much stuff you can do to these old trucks, where do you stop.

Unfortunately I can't make the GTG as ski season is not over quite yet...
Mike H., are you going to be running disk brakes on your 9" Ford axle?
If you are, I have experience on that conversion as I built an 8.8/9 inch hybrid rear axle for my Mustang. I cut off the C-clip ends, welded on 9" axle ends.
I am using 9" inch axles with 12" vented Cobra rear disks. So I have stronger 9" axles, 9" captive axle bearings & no C-clips.
It was pricey but well worth it. I'm legal for slicks for drag racing & the 9" tapered axle bearings can take side loads for road racing.
The popular & cheap 11" non-vented Explorer rear disks that most folks use on the 9" are really small.

I was just going to get a 11in drag race kit, then I don't have to worry about the e-brake stuff. Nothing fancy. Strange or Moser will make the axles and they will be a semi-float axle, depending on funding, full float axle. The front will be just stocker stuff, same goes for the master/cylinder/ and an adjustable portioning valve. This truck will only be drag raced, worst case, I can pull a level and a big chute will come out.
