I'm kamking $42 an hour in FM. I'm HD but working on F450 and F550 mostly. Also do the airfield stuff. I do get camp and flights paid for though so that makes a big difference. Or so they tell me....

Clay. When I get these safety courses done here I'll get B-1 rate. Which is j-man that has all requirements. When the contract rolls over in February suncor jman will all be $55.09hr B-1 rate. Plus living allowance, plus retention bonus.

Ya I figured I was getting way below what other HD mechs were getting. I've heard the mine HDs at Horizon are getting $52/hr+LA and retention.

I really don't want to have to get a place in Fort Mac and drive back and forth. This camp thing and flying directly to site is pretty sweet. I. done at 6:30pm Tuesday night, on a plane around 8pm and am at home by 10pm.

Part of the reason I'm only getting $42 is because I'm actually filling the role of a automotive tech. Even though I'm HD and do mostly busses, F450/550s and the airfield stuff, I'm still lumped in with the rest of the guys in the shop as an automotive guy.

I'm really liking the camp/flying thing but am still keeping an ear out for other possibilities. I know Leo Roberts just got a big contract and is looking for 25 HD techs and 25 auto techs for their Fort McKay shop. They pay $50/hr + $1200 LA and apparently they will pay for flights.

Anyone here work for, or deal at lot with, Leo Roberts?

Clay, look up Imperial Oil, Kearl Lake. they're starting to get rigged up for production. It'll be flyin/out camp job. get on with imperial - not a contractor.

I am watching for a camp job with flights. Kearl lake is one strong option, and Suncor is opening another mine near kearl lake as well that will be camp job with flights too. so i could transfer there. Imperial - Kearl Lake will be opening a few years before the new suncor site though. I dont really want a place in town either, but it is what it is for now.

Thats what Leo Roberts needs 50 mechanics for. They've got the Kearl Lake contract.
