Luke there is a girl on comp d by the name of sarah brendt (im not sure of the spelling) she has gotten hers real deep in the 15's now, maybe even 14's now... I know that zach hamilton was fooling with cams for the tdi also. I read a magazine article where a fellow was over 400 hp with his.. but custom everything.. injectors are cheap and very easy to change on them too, maybe 45 mins. There are all kinds of electronics help for them too...
Dr, I wouldnt be scared of one in those years... a friend of mine has one, he bought it with 200k on it , and then started to hot rod it,, no problems, fun little car

Most of the service people and sales men would tell people they could drive it like a gasser and and yes for a while you could but, the turbos would slowly coke up and you would have problems.Then because the VW service and labor (SPENDY) was a nightmare The motors got a bad rap
Best part of this is you can still get some sweet deals on a car that has these problems and fix it quite easy and yes they did have some wiring issuses even the one I was just in had issues

Best part of this is you can still get some sweet deals on a car that has these problems and fix it quite easy and yes they did have some wiring issuses even the one I was just in had issues

Vortex has more misinformation then it has information, and TDIclub pretty much only has info about TDI's.
The stock injectors in an IDI are good for 200hp + Dave @ Passenger and I made 200whp on a 1.6idi with a well ported 1.9idi head. A Giles worked over ip, Daves own custom intake manifold, and a bunch of other stuff.
