Smarty Jr on 6.7

Love the Smarty on both my rides-----BUT---Anybody local have feedback on the Smarty Jr on the newer 6.7(2008 model year truck)Pro/Cons.A friend of a friend has asked me about them and wants to turn it up a bit on his truck.Basically the truck is all stock from what i"m told.I had the first "Catcher"-(ECM reflash) when they first came out to the Smarty hand held on my 2001 then to the Smarty JR on my 2007 dually, but no experience with them on the 6.7(haven"t even rode in a 6.7 yet).Any feedback is great as Harry @ Peak will get the business. Thanks DW

Kev, any updates for the 2010 truck on the smarty?

DW, I would just get rid of that dpf/cat junk as quick as you can. I've gained 4-5mpg just by doing that. The smarty jr is a smoken deal. I would get some gauges for the truck, I you tow, you'll see some egt's. The only thing that H&S does better it has transmission programming. Its kinda like getting an adjustable shift kit for free for the transmission.

The 6.7L is a awesome truck, stock, ya stock. Just get rid of that EPA junk.

I like the Smarty myself. If the jr operates anything like the S-67 you will be pleased. Even in the Stock options, you gain a good 1-2 mpg. With full deletes its much better. I have gotten on the last tank an average of 10.2 L/100km. (795km with 1/4 tank left) Thats better than my minivan!

The smarty jr w/deletes is excellent. I have 505 km on this tank and I have just under 1/2 tank left. That is mostly city driving and some towing of my 14 foot dump trailer that tows horrible.

Extended idle time is no problem and NO MORE REGENS!!! I just run the fuel economy tune and am very pleased. 6 months, no CEL's and no issues!!!

MADS makes an awesome product.

Nothing yet Mike. Marco has something written, but from what I understand he is not 100% happy with it, and is doing a little more R&D on it before he is going to release it. But shouldnt be long I would think

on the 2008 (smarty Jr)

follow the instructions on mads website, do the egr and dpf delete, you will gain 2-3 mpg easily, keep the setting on the 60hp tune or less keep the torque on default (untill you upgrade the stock clutch (or get a tranny tune if auto) because if you max out the smarty jr you will fry a stock tranny if you beat on it.

I want to try one out on my truck, just for giggles. Edge probably makes the best standlone box, at least it has all the cool features and gauges.

Hate to say this, but the H&S is good on all fullsized manufacturers of diesels. Its for the guy that goes thru lots of vehicles. Smarty is only good on the dodge. Mine put down 373rwhp on hot (theres a wild setting, which is the most power). I like the adjusting the transmission.

I want to try my H&S programmer in a 6.4L ford just for fun times. I was told you can get 500+rwhp out a stock truck. These new programmers its so easy to get the power of these diesel trucks.

I haven't done any warranty claims yet, so I can't say any down falls yet.

The tranny adjustments are definitely a benefit and I can't argue the power of the H&S. But I am only running the SW5 (90 hp) bump with default torque, timing, VGT response and rail pressure. I haven't dabbled with the POD stuff yet as I don't really need to change levels that often. I like the no smoke aspect of the tunes.

Its hard enough on the tires as it is, never mind at 395RWHP like Mike is running.

What da ya saying buddy.. Stock tires aren't that great anyways. My truck is running stock 99.5% of the time, but when I see a 12v truck wanting to get beat-up, I can't resist.

Still can't beleive Kev, you ran 13.8 in Edmonton, just on a tuner.

Careful Tate, thats a rumor. I didn't say that I could pass a 12v, just had so show some muscle flexing. Heck there hardly any smoke with these new trucks. Anyways that was the 02 truck that I ran Brett, and its way faster than my 2010.
