Off topic - Grand Caravan headlight problems

Folks,
This is kind of off-topic but you all seem to know them most about Dodge products. My kid sister just called me. She just rolled into Nelson, BC with her kids and husband (Calgary is home to her). They have a 2006 Dodge Grand-Caravan and they are having issues with their headlights. The drl are working fine but they have no normal headlights and high-beams only work if the column arm is held towards driver. Let the arm go (toggle to high-beam) but not held towards driver and lights go back to only drl. It sounds to me like the multi-function switch in the column, from what I have read about similar probs in our trucks. They are in Nelson for 4 or 5 days but don't want to drive home with the problem if they don't have to. Are there other common probs with headlight system in the Grand-Caravan or does this sound like the multi-function switch to the rest of you too?
If you want to point me to a better site like allpar, then feel free to tell me where to go (did I really just say that).
Any idea if the prob might be covered under warranty, they are the second owner of the minivan but it has less than 40,000 km on it.
Thanks for helping me help my kid sister.

Wink - you are likely pointing me in the right direction (no big surprise there). Thanks.

Those DRL Modules can cause soem weird issues. If you know where it is you can unplug it and see if the problems go away the lights shouldstill work just no high beam indicator on the dash.. On our trucks they sit on the left fender, not sure on the van.
