The auto's are fine until you add more power then you will start slipping the TC.A shift kit will help a bit by increasing the pressures but sooner than late you will need a TC.You should be ableto find something decent in a second gen for that money i would think.

You should be able to find an older rig pretty easy for that price. If you can deal witha 2wd, they are usually a good bit cheaper than the 4bys.

If you buy the truck, you might have to get a Tater tune-up on it. Take some pics and post them if you buy it. I all ways like looking at the older trucks. Happy hunting. We had a good turnout of the older trucks at the Red Deer met.

Nice buy. Looks like a sweet ride. Is it a 4X4? I think mine has more rust in it that your truck and I paid a wee bit more than you.

the only realbad spots for rust are the wheel wells .. both sides on the back need some love but easy to fix ,,, and i was in the right place at the right time .i stayed home from work wasn't feeling good and i was looking for a truck and i refreshed the page on kijiji and they it was , i was the first person to call him . and he said it was only 30 seconds after he placed the ad lol.. so the day off work saved me alot more then i lost

Wink, Trust me that corvette owner like being smoked out by a rusty rig I would fix the rust later on. At least you can still use it as a truck, not a show boat.
