more power = BOOM!
more power = BOOM!

it was bound to happen....just wish later then sooner.
just get the truck running with the new injectors so it can be moved about the body shop.
took it for a spin and left the pump at near runaway.
well................
it makes noise and doesnt move know

i suspect input or output in tranny.
so who has a line on a nv5600 or 47rh......................
iam on the fence auto or manual..........
must be cheap...................BROKE AS
NOW....literally

And dropping the "F" bomb here won't help.

Good news is it made more power, bad news is anytime you make more power you have to spend more money.
I think Mike has a spare 47rh, but he left (or is in the process of leaving) for Quesnel this morning, wont be home till Wednesday or so. He also has a DTT race 48re, but then you would have to figure out the electronics, and it wouldn't be cheap.

park holds it. but feels like its in neutral.input it is........
i think iam leaning towards the nv5600.
there is one for sale for $2000 bucks with a southbend clutch .
say 100000km on rebuild........kind of scares me..
i dont want to spend $4000 bucks on a auto and then $$$ more for a converter.
maybe i can sell the $800 dollar converter i just bought 1000 km ago
ask mike what he wants for the stuff.

Finally landed
, at least those sticks are making decent power. Good to hear, I would run a NV4500 myself, those things are darn tuff and for the money its a decent upgrade. Most of the hard cores prefer the G56 or NV5600, I like the NV4500, just cause its tuff.

the nv5600 just as tough.
but whats this i hear about korean rebuild parts.
i dont want to touch this thing for years if i do it.
whats a ballpark price for a sothbend dd that you can drive everyday?
nv4500 and nv5600
i tow a **** ton too.....thought the 6 speed would be worth it.
there is one http://alberta.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehi...AdIdZ294453255
what you think.
he is probably on here too.
i can get a nv4500 with a sloppy 3rd gear for less then $300 with clutch/flywheel.......
so many decisions
might have to delay body shop ,
i dont hink they want to push my truck around the shop

DD clutch is ~$1200 iirc.
Doing all the pedals, hydraulics, and what not to the 5 spd conversion is a pain, you pretty much need a donor truck.
Even though everything I own has a manual tranny, I would still build an auto in that situation. Way less hassle and about the same money, as doing the whole conversion.

well vote and help me decide.
OPTION 1
the nv5600 or G56 6 speed is.
$2000 with stock clutch. and hard to find(fuel to get it)
flywheel ,adapter plate,starter,shifter boots,slave,driveshaft mods
pedal assembly,manual collum
another $1500 and tons of work
OPTION 2
a built lock up tranny and converter will cost $5000 plus

tons of workneed driveshaft mods, stater etc. another $1000
OPTION 3
NV4500 with sloppy 3rd gear for cheap
need clutch slave etc.etc same $1500 as option 1
tons of work
OPTION 4
build the 518 and re-use near new converter
approx $2000 in parts/rebuild .........have no idea????
OPTION 5
burn it and buy new one

man iam going to be eating KD for months

My vote is 2, just cause you end up with the best all around set-up. You can buy everything to do the swap, but it isn't cheap. Another choice is find another 1st gen truck and swap in a five speed from it.
Burn it is not an option, not enough of those clean 1st gens left, dually extended cab 4X4 trucks, very rare.
and probably the nicest looking dodge truck design in years.

boost smoke......then BANG no broken flexplate noises and she's stuck in neutral

mike also please call me tomorrow.
i want a price on your 47rh and the number to your tranny guy..
worst case my 518 can be built...................but should i?
