Now that Luke and I got the whole timing debacle finished.

We got the head gasket wrapped up with no problems.

I had followed the sticky and rebuilt the upper end of my fuel pump.

As Jim didn't take a picture of all the parts laid out I was unaware of the parts missing from my pump.

Someone had been in there before and left out three parts when they reassembled it.



This is what has been making my truck go for the last 9 years. (who knows how long before I bought it.)

From left to right should be the compression ring, then the bushing and fuel pin, green O ring in the end of the bushing, protection cap and lastly the retainer.

I'm thinking it's going to run a whole lot different once I get the new parts installed and fire the old (female dog) up.

This whole saga for me is wild.

Who knows if it's over yet!!!!!!

 

Is that out of the injection pump? I saw a thread in the first gen on rebuilding the VE pump.
