This is one BC`er that is very happy with this law over tuned, I spend all winter in Arizona and shoot hand guns and rifles with my American neighbours here, and let me tell you it is great. Now if I could find a way to bring some of my own guns down to shoot it would be even better.

It's not quite true we can't defend ourselves. True, we can't shoot a trespasser for the act of trespassing, but we can defend ourselves and our families...

This has been proven over and over again. The problem comes when the police/government lay charges for you doing this. They are trying to set precedents in law. They will pursue these charges to the point of bankrupting you. The act isn't necessarily illegal... but you will be charged anyway.

Look at the fellow charged because his daughter DREW a handgun.

In one report I read, he gave written permission for the search after the search was completed. Police and social services are out of control in parts of this country. I know of people who would like some resources to help with difficult children but are afraid to go to social services for assistance as they instantly become the bad guys, instead of getting some assistance.

Don't you believe it there are numerous ways to determine the path of a bullet from blood spatter, the way the body lays, powder residue...etc....it is almost impossible to hide the truth unless the body is moved to a different location and they can tell that as well

Hockey sticks are a bit different. Is it a left or a right hand stick, taped or not, curved?

We've had two recent cases of self defense shootings here in Alberta in the past couple of years. One was 3 people broke into a guys house, with knives, to try and intimidate him and only 2 left alive, the other one was shot and killed. The shooter was charged and won his case in court as self defense.
Another was a farmer that shot a guy riding away on his quad that he had stolen from the yard. He was charged and found guilty. The big difference was that he shot the guy in the back so the crown says there was no threat for him to be shooting as the guy was fleeing. What a bigcrock of you know what!.

That's why a famous Alberta man once said, "Shoot, shovel, and shut up!"

Now we just need the federal govt to get right out of the gun business and turn it back over the the provinces to manage.

Heading up to Bass Pro today to get my first gun. Well ok its going to be an air rifle. I've got a pair of coyotes that are snooping about the yard. I know I cann't kill one with an air rifle but I hope putting a pellet in its hide will be a good deterrent. I don't have a PAL and the zoning for my acreage prohibits discharge of firearms. Housing is too densely populated for that.

Kinda funny actually that the wife and I picked this area to move to as we didn't want to be too isolated and far from town. But since we moved here 6 months ago we've both commented on how crowded it feels.....
