little more hp
#17
If its going to make me money at the blackout then yes I'll probably do it. I gotta see how my truck works you never know setup can go a lot farther the hp sometimes I think. If I had a front locker and I hang 1000 lbs off the front I would amagine I'll out pull a guy with no wieghts or locker that's got more hp.

Get some lock out hubs and weld the front up. If you talked to a machinist, you could get a bushing made to slide into the compressor inlet to get you down to the 2.6 class. Some organizations are ok with this, some are not. Might have to enquire. If you are looking at going to the unlimited class, you could get the 71mm compressor from the 4294 on your turbo. That being said, if you stick with the VP, you're not gonna be running enough fuel to take advantage of that turbo. 2.6 would probably still keep you fairly competitive. Look on Comp D, 2.6 guys are running nearly 700hp. Thats with a true 2.6 turbo, like the S465. But like you said, hp is only part of the equation, still need setup. And I think you'll probably be setup better than a lot of guys there, especially with a front locker and weights.

Bushing looks much easier then I thought. I haven't checked but I'm sure they would allow it here they never looked at my suspension or wieghed trucks last year. At the aab at least.
I would like to stay in 2.6 forsure as far as I know just cromier (spelling may be wrong) is the only setup 2.6 truck.

I can trade you a S366/0.91 for your GT4094R. I don't have the class restrictions. The turbo is brand spanky new and is a 66mm inducer, no modifications required.
I want to be the first guy in Airdrie with twin turbo ball bearing garretts set-up
Kenny, where did you buy the sticks from? Rip has a set of mach 7's sitting on the shelf, if you want more power. I'm probably gonna order a set of 4's in the new year. I do have a set of mach 6'rs available, if you want more fuel. I made 677rwhp on them once. Can you use water/methanol during the pull?

Some 66mm turbos won't tech for the 2.6 class, thats one of the reasons why guys run the S465, they are gauranteed to pass tech. 66mm is equal to 2.598". Add in your radial clearance, you might be looking at 2.610 or 2.620" If the plug is machined to 2.600, it will slide in and you fail tech.

Anyone know the rules at the drag strip for battery hold downs, does it have to be hard mounted or would a couple rubber hold down straps work? Just looking at my options when relocating the battery.

If it is mounted in the rear, typically it needs an off switch clearly visible at the rear most point of the vehicle.

And it needs to kill the vehicle apparently. Kev's setup isolated the battery, but not the alt, truck kept running when they flicked the switch at the blackout.

Kenny - if you need new rods just get some metric allthread. Edmonton and nisku nut and bolt has it. 6 mm is what I used (I believe). Get some washers and 4 nuts. Cut them to whatever length you need, and doublenut it.
