Laser cuts vs 181 DVs

Well back to the drawing board.I tryed a set of 181 delivery valves..Loosened up the AFC to the max..I think I lost a good 50 hp with the 181(maybe I put them upside down..lol)...Maybe what I will try is 181 DV with 131 holders, what do you guys think??...My zero plate is also full forward..I don't know why my 175 pump likes the LC better and yet Robs 175 pump with a auto trans and 022 dv,he could smoke everyone out..My truck is just weird..

Pull the plate out and mod the AFC for more rack travel. Get a Mack rack plug after that for more fuel.

Doesn't Rob have injectors in his truck now?

Its just strange...I have 215 injectors also...And you could smoke out the lot with your truck...I should try the 131 holders and 181 DV....Just to say I did it...Curious to see..

I tried the 181 DV in 131 holders..full forward zero plate and AFC housing.Star screw loosen to the max...It was better for sure, than the 181 DV and 181 holders, but still slugglish and lost some of my mid to high end torque but it was better.I don't much on the holders, but they must restrict or increase flow depending on which design....So now I was thinking...The 131 holders will flow more while the 181 will restict..The laser cuts flow like crazy while the 181 DV will hold back fuel...May try one more test...Laser cut DV in 181 holders..Maybe this combo will give me the right fueling without having a really thight AFC running the Laser cuts with 131 holders..

Do I know what I'm talking about???Not at all...I'm just experimenting and assuming I know what the heck I'm doing...

Got my power back....This is with lasercut DV and 181 holders. This is what I find in testing..(Truck has 3k springs,215 injectors,175 pump and hx-35 turbo.AFC full forward and star screw loosen to max.)

1)181 DV and 181 holders:Lost low,med and high end torque.Hardly no smoke and didn't run very good when started cold..Lumpy and low idle.Truck was a dog.

2)181 DV and 131 holders:Was alot better, but still lost a bit on the low end, lost alot on med to top end..Better idle on cold startup.More smoke if you really push it.

3)lasercuts and 181 holders:Power was back in low,med and high range.Truck starts and idle just like it use to..Seems to be better on pick up on the lower end,but that could be the result of the temp outside. The really test will be between 26 -30C.Smoke heavy when pushing it,but thats with a un-tuned AFC.The next test...How tight do I have to adjust the AFC to elimate the smoke and keep the torque up, compared to the 131 holders...

Quoted to make sure Tate reads this... Could it be that is the issue with your 12mm pump? (Yes I know it still won't rev properly)

Sorry I was referring to Tate's 12mm pump with the cam in it. He has been fighting fueling issues since day one, or at least since he pulled the laser cuts. I am hoping that your experience will work for his pump as well.
