The PEAK boots are pretty heavy, no need to double clamp with numbers under 50 psi I would think. They are fun to put on boy!

I heated mine up prior to installation. What size is the intercooler inlet/outlet?

Got it all done today, the boots weren't that bad to do! A little soap and water and they slid right on. The intercooler i pulled out was a replacement as well, it had a city wide rad badge on the bottom of it.I also had to undo the rad and top hose so i could lift it out of the way to get the intercooler out. From what i can tell so far is the boost actually down to 30psi from 32 but the egt's climb slower and seem to max out around 1450 or so. I didn't have time to pressure test the system yet to see if there are anymore leaks. They are both 4" mike.

It does seem high for that kind of boost. But its been a while since I had the HX on there. I don't get to that number until around 38-40 psi.

Hah, hah more fixing to come, so I'm not alone. I think you need more fuel and abit more air. You sure that the inlet/outet aren't 3 1/2in. My PDR boots leaked out air and I have to double clamp them. Whats your wastegate set at? I have a brand new HX-40 that needs some soot on her.

don't wanna steal this thread but does anyone have some pieces made up for doing an air test on the boots/intercooler, they could maybe bring to the dyno day?

I got the head on my truck today. Only stripped one bolt, so everything is good so far. I justed used a 4in to 3in exhaust reducer. Put in a 3in valve. Mine works good. I pressure up the system by a 1/2in NPT fitting on the head to an air tool fitting. You can also do the same thing for the exhaust side to see if you have any loose leaky stuff, just pull out the pyro and block the turbine/exhaust flange. If you pressure everything up to check for leaks, you may want to spin loose your rockers bolts, you don't hear air leaking by the valves into the exhaust. All of my neighbors in my area are trying to get me to sell the truck or just trade it off as its too much work to bring my truck back from the dead. I just can't handle the $1200 per month payment each and every month for a new truck that will break just as often as my old beater. Good luck guys getting the rides running.

Luke, you gonna put 24v on the rollers? It would be cool to see the numbers prior to unloading the truck.
