I have to say that what you are saying is just a stalling tactic for the inevitable and eventual BOMBing of the 08. I give it another year. Secretly you will have twins but do not tell anyone.

Cool Update

The last couple weeks the ol girl is in the shop getting a fresh coat. They had to strip it right down to epoxy coat it for primer and fixed the rust spots as they weren't very big.

The shop foreman/painter was trying to explain to the other shop guys there why someone would paint an old 97 Dodge...."Cuz its got a 12V in it, those things last forever!" I think I found the right shop..

Should be out of the ICU on Friday and ready to roll on Monday.. Can't wait to get her back!!

I just woke up this morning to a new dent/scratch in my box on my 2010 truck. Just right above the rear tire, driver side. Not happy today. Happened at a parking lot at a hotel.

So I know how you feel Dog, about having the baby damaged.O-well its just money.

fyi- Just a heads up, I found this low mileage 98 12v gem. Not cheap, but a very clean original unmolested truck.

No its not me, I wish I could but.. but lives on the Island. I was chatting with Harry at Peak yesterday. Malcolm (Harbor Diesel) is thinking about buying this truck at Parksville.

With you guys being hard core 12v guys,...I guess that might be called a tease. Hard to beleive that such low mileage clean clean trucks of that year are still available. Seen some real cool clean 2nd gen 24v trucks out here. Our truck just are beat to heck and seem dirtier (well mine does). I'm jealous.

Malcom switching to a Dodge from the Chevy frame, interesting.

I dented the rear bumper on my 08 last winter, slid into a parking pole as I was backing up. Just as I put it into park, it rolled back and bump, dent. I'll get some pics once the old beast is out of the shop.

Well I'm curious to hear your opinion of the job once you get it back, as my 96 is looking ratty, and I still plan to keep it for a long time.

Did you settle on Maaco, or one of the more expensive places? I'm just wondering what their prep work is like, and things like if there's overspray all over the engine compartment, etc.

Thanks, and I hope it turns out great.
