Why not do both?

Are you planning on doing the headgasket, ring and stud? Chris in another post said he still has his old head, be a good idea to rob that from him, get that rebuilt, and then just swap them. Less down time if everything goes right.

What are the symptoms? I say leave well enough alone with it for now. These heads aren't known to recess valves or have seat wear. 350K is usually only around 7-8000 hours run time.

I have no problems...just was thinking with the miles the truck has it maybe time to redo the head.I know chris has offered the head for me to rebuild.I just have this strange feeling my head gasket is going to take a dive yet...

I wouldn't worry about until you know that there is a problem.

I just popped mine not to long ago, not really sure why it went. When it was taken apart, a good portion of the head bolts were actually loose, but I did have a drool at the passenger front corner for over 2 years.

I was contemplating changing it when it started drooling but got 2 years out of before it had to be changed and I only have 135,000 miles on the old girl.

Just drive it and enjoy it, I know of trucks with many more miles on them and they are still on the original gasket.
