guys in Calgary with progammers. . .

Anyone in Calgary (area) have a programmer which will recalibrate speedo & odometer to compensate for larger tires?

If not, is the dealership the only place that can do it?

thanx,
jason

With the Smarty, you had to have the Catcher softwares loaded in to recalibrate the speedo, and as soon as you pull the smarty, it reverts to the stock tire size. Cost me about $55 and 20 minutes to have the dealer reprogram my speedo.

i am not in the market for a programmer right now. i am just looking to recalibrate my odo & speedo. but, it sounds like when it gets unplugged (smarty) it reverts back to stock settings. . .

thanx for the shop referral, never heard of them but will check it out!

Aren't the OBD's which you are talking about just code readers? I've only played with one once, never saw anything about reprogramming speedo's, but its possible. For the price of a code reader, the dealer could have done it.

I did mine and it works. I have the program out of my truck and speedo is still ok. If you drive out to Airdrie, I'll put in the correction for ya. Of course then you have to listen to my sad truck stories.

I'll do the flash for your tires, but you have to help me remove the curse off my truck. I can't find any witch doctors in the phone book. I've tried to spilling beer and blood on it, but the curse continues. My CD player is the lastest item to fail. Thank-fully they make more.. I think Tate has a smarty for sale if you want. I'm keeping mine. I'm putting in my new DTT tranny this weekend, so the timing is right for removing the curse. I almost have the new twins together. Just need new coolant lines to be built, and its almost time to close the eyes and ears, and push some black smoke out of the cummins

i have an aftermarket deck, so my factory cd player is available . . .

im not interested in any programmers right now, unless it is dirt cheap. i am going to wait and go with the adrenaline once it is available to the public.

If your dealer values your business, he should adjust your tire size for nothing for the 2 minutes it takes.

My Smarty leaves the adjusted tire size alone when I revert back to "stock". It seems that some trucks lose it and others keep it when they pull the Catcher software out.

good point homestead. if i don't find a dealer that will do this, do you know of one. i think it is unnecessary to pay the dealership $60 to plug in and press a button. . .

Blacksilver, is your transmission been upgraded? If its stock, you should put in a aftermarket TC and valve body. Anything over stock (tires, injectors, boxes) will destroy a stock transmission. I've been that road a few times. I have a set of mild 125rwhp injectors if you in the mood, you can try with your new box. Also do some fuel system mods. I've heard that mopar has an intank fuel system that works. I'm running the fass system and got about 200000km on it. Before that I went thru 4 lift pumps and two injector pumps. I have a few HX-40 available to, if you want more air or we can put together a set of twins so you use all that extra fuel. I'm looking at a high end DVD/Nav system for the truck so its good timing, I just have to get the truck mobile to get the new deck.

i have not done anything to my tranny - yet. i was planning on doing a valve body before i start messing with the fuel & air - whenever that may be. i didn't know (never have given it much thought) that tires could hurt the tranny.
all that stuff you have available sounds **** tempting, but i think my money would be better spent elsewhere for now (but that may change!)
