You just have to pull the tranny back enough to get at the clutch. If you have a big inch exhaust you might curse some as the top tranny bolts are a bugger. Tate, did you leave the transfer case attached to the tranny or you remove it on Kenny truck? You probably could get away with leaving it attached, but you'll have to get the chains on tight around the transmission. The DTR pit crew in action. Too bad I'm going camping sounds like a fun fun afternoon.

t-case was left on, big thanks to tate he saved me a lot of money. clutch is making a little noise again not the same though im just hoping for the best. if this thing lets go i might have to look into a auto swap shifting takes way to long.

I don't know, its been a long time since I've talked to any of the clowns.

Kenny, is it the same kind of noise as before? This is where a real small boroscope would be handy, to take a peak in there without yanking the whole works. Hope its not another failure, I only have 2 more input shafts left.

Yep, pilot bearings come pre installed in the flywheels. Upgraded roller or ball bearing setups, not the wimpy needle bearings.

Gonna come out on the weekend to drop some tools on Dave's head?

I happen to have a rigid borescope.. 10mm diameter by about 30" long. Would you just go through the side boot?

Did you get that from Home Depot for around $200 or so? I was gonna pick one up, but the one in Airdrie 'lost' the one they had.

I'd likely suggest pulling the slave cylinder off and going into the bell housing that way. The tube on the input shaft bearing retainer, that the throw out bearing rides on, snapped off on Kenny's tranny. Not sure what would cause that, but if it happened once, it might happen again. Can't see it being an alignment issue, as that should be binding the pilot bearing.

no befor it was a squeal when the clutch was pushed in now i get a little noise when the clutch is engaged from a stop. so it might just be a random friction noise i guess. it hasen't gotten worse so i'll play it out worse cause senario i get a triple disc clutch right?

bumm-air kenny. hope its not bad. I helped a bud R&R his auto last week. I tell you WHAT autos are way easier than 4500s. That crossmember...ya. used a big bar to wedge up under it and it walked out pretty easy. before reinstalling it....get your BFH and give it some love on the tapered sides helps it go back in way better. far less hammering. and the bolts suck it right back into shape. I'd come help you guys but I'm on shift all weekend. But after the 11th I'll be back on a regular M-F days shift......going to work at Waterous.

Ahh, I misunderstood. Rigid (the company) has a boroscope at home depot, but its flexible.

Chris, maybe I could take you up on that head too? What a mooch I am. Want cash or beer in return? I have a feeling my 2500 will need an o-ringed head sooner or later.
