Anyone know where in Alberta (or Canada) to get Bilstein 5100's? Rather deal in Canada than cross border.

Andy,

When I was trying to find mine, no one could get the part numbers straight for a third gen truck. Every single place referred to a distributor in the Vancouver area that was their main supply - they couldn't even get it straight. I got frustrated and ended up calling Mr. Lorenz. That was the most pleasant part of the whole shock experience - to my door without hassle and the right parts.

Since you don't wish to do cross border, the only thing I might suggest is maybe Harry down at PEAK can get them. Worth a try I guess. Unless they've gotten straightened out, it was a waste of my time spending a week in making calls between Edmonton and Calgary.

Yep they are a BIG hassle to get right, after 6 months i've finally got them all in and figured out. I think most shops will get them, you just need to get the right part number. The bushings are also a huge pain to. Bilsteins website is also terrible, when I got my rears the part number was for some mid 80's chev, but suppose to work for my rear end. Really don't get it. What shocks are you trying to get it for stock, lifted etc?

5100's (the chrome ones) are for trucks with 2-3" lift, arent they?

The regular HD Bilsteins for stock height trucks are yellow.

The ones for my 6" lift are the exact same looking as the ones for 3" lift, just different part numbers.

You're right Shane. I'm going to level my truck with a 2" spacer up front and I've got air bags on the rear so it's up a little already in the rear with 5 lbs of air pressure. So I thought to be safe, put on 5100's.

i searched and searched for these in alberta just like festus.

i ended up just ordering from geno's - they know what they are doing when they ship it to canada . . . if the price works for you after the conversion i'd just stick with geno's - no extra fees to get to you, you just pay them once and that is it.

If all your going to do is put in a leveling spacer, you can run the normal yellow/blue ones. That's all I have done for the last 4 years.

The best price I found bar none was Summit Racing, they beat everyones price delivered. If you order from them, tell them to mail it, it will save some brokerage fees.

I got mine from Kevin At High Roller Trux out of Okotos. They came with a Carli starter kit, but I am pretty sure you can just get the 5100's from him. I love mine! PM me if you need more info on contacting him......

At the time of all the hassle of trying to find some up here, a lengthy phone conversation with Sean at Lorenz revealed many learnings to include that the 5100's would work anywhere from 0 to a 3" lift. I put mine in, then later put in my leveling kit from Kevin up front and didn't have to change a thing - works like a hot darn!
