I couldn't believe what I seen this evening...About 3 crows where chasing a bald eagle over my house. Then a few minuties later some other hawk or eagle with gray/gold feathers flew over....Hope the city zoo didn't have a few of there birds of prey escape...They are beauiful birds...

I also saw the same thing two days ago. The Eagle picked up a piece of afterbirth and flew away with it. (was in a field with 100's of cows calving) and the crows or ravens whatever they were chased the eagle for a long time, even nipping at him a bunch. Was pretty cool.

Surprised that the crows were putting the run on the eagle, and not the other way around.

Yeah, crazy crows, I saw one in the Edmonton zoo the other day - they are huge!! I hate seeing wild birds cooped up, especially birds of prey... wonder if there are any other sightings because I've heard they are making a comeback to their historic range - could be migrating on the way to Alaska or something.

When I seen this it made me remember one time we were sledding, and my buddy had a bright orange helmut on. And a Bald eagle and a owl attacked him that day.. funnier than a fight,, trying to grab the helmut, and my buddy freaking out,, last day he ever wore that helmut too

Dave, I seen a few wild bald eagle in the Calgary-diamond cove area, by the river but that must have been a few years ago. They are one big bird, once they get the wing open up. Crows/ravens will go after anything that looks tasty.

Bald Eagle Welcome

Last summer when my family crossed the border from New Brunswick into Maine, a bald eagle flew right over the truck while we were going over the bridge. A great welcome back from our trip into eastern Canada!

I worked at a fishing lodge for a couple of summers. Some biologists would come up there and band young eagles at around 45 days old. I was able to go along and help (watch). At 45 days those birds are nearly full grown. At 60 days they start flying. There were around 20 nesting pairs on that lake.
I agree a fascinating bird!

We live up just under Alaska, when the salmon are in the river you see any where from 50 to 100 or my bald eagles a day, after a while you dont even pay much attention, the crows chase them now as they are nesting, In the winter here they hang out at the dump eating garbage, no so pretty as on the river but they survive. always fun watching them fight over fish with the gull`s
