Armor Inc. Dyno Day.
The only carnage was the dyno itself....I talked to the guy running the system and their e-brake failed...I got their card, because I asked them if they would be interseted in other diesel events in Red Deer..I talked to Jamie and its still ok to use the company shop..Which is great because we could have a indoor winter dyno...But I would have to call them later to see if they got the brake fixed...before anything is decided..
Randy in his customers duramax took 2nd overall with a 744 iirc.
Big props to Jade, destroying everyone and the dyno with his 955. SSR made all the difference in that truck. Looking forward to some 10's pass's now.

Jade's truck is set-up pretty decently for making some big numbers. I was supprised on well it worked myself.
While I arrived late & couldn't stay long, it was great seeing everyone.
It looked like it was an awesome day. Plenty of nice trucks there.
I don't know who Jade is. He must have dynoed after I left. What truck was his?

Glad I could steal a few minutes to come down. Good show and good to see a lot of the crew again! We need a good dyno again for the crew here to play with. R&D dyno time would be fun.
The hot brake on the dyno was a sore spot for some. But all dyno shows have glitches.. When you have trucks from 300-1000 hp in variance, its hard to tool up for that.
Donovan and the crew put on a really great show and we all had fun.

Great job Brett. No wonder you are a fan of the Smarty SSR with results like that!
Are you tuning the SSR on the street or on a dyno? What are your starting points?
If tuning solely on the street, how are you tuning the timing? By ear or seat of the pants?
Many questions but thats what dyno numbers like that cause!

Timing has been done both by ear (listening for rattle and such), and by trap speed (bring it up, until it start to slow down, go back to the fastest trap speed.)
I will be doing a bunch of SSR dyno tuning this winter, on a certain '05 that makes a fair bit more power even then Jade's.
I am sure there is some power we could pick up on Jade's with some dyno time, but at this point we are quite happy with the result.
