I'm not making any promises, but if the last two months serve as any indication, I probably will be.

yep, MORE than a little too high. WAY to high. any reputable builder should be able to open it up and tighten that way up. if its a good billet converter may as well.

He only wants 200 for the convertor and 500 for the tranny... the tranny has a stage 2 shift kit in it, does that sound fair? Should I just leave the converter there?

My guess is it isn't billet. Its for a mid 90's F-150. Unless something has changed since I was last there?

Does the transmission have a lock-up converter? More city or hiway driving? Gear ratio of vehicle. Weight of the vehicle? You have a decebt transmission cooler. Lots of factors. If the transmission has a lock-up TC, which most new vehicles do, a high stall is ok, if you do lots of hyway driving. Mostly depends on the effieceny of the converter design and the power that the engine makes. The more power, the easier you lock-up the converter. Less power, its worse. Most ratings are useless.

I believe his truck has a lockup,, it is a 93. But it is not overly powerful,, lol, I think that they were rated from the factory at 225,, something like that.

All depends on how good is the converter is. Good aren't bad, but some aren't that good and just heat up the transmission oil. Lucky gaser stuff is pretty cheap. I would try it out first and make a call. Might be good enough to run. At least get a better transmission cooler, as high stalls generate lots of heat.

High gear ratio and high stalls are fun, make for decent 0-60mph times, not good for much else.

Luke will you have time in the near future to run out and pick up the tranny from this fellow? I will figure out what to do with it after that point.

Let me know, if you cant do it, I will figure something else out

Thanks
