Scotty, I'm in the search for a 6.7 short block. I want the crank so I can build a 7.0L engine, so I can get in some wicked times at the track.

Wink, I'm game to giver a go at building up manual actuvator device for the turbo.

Rob, you just need an internal wastegate actuator, and some time, to make that VGT work. I have one in my garage as well. There are a couple write ups floating around, but the basic idea is pretty simple.

We were both asleep at the wheel about a month ago. In the Classifieds here a guy had a complete drop in 6.7 with 64K kms on it...he was out in Ontario by Ottawa. drop in, 6 spd auto trans, transfer case, front shafts and front diff. 2500!!! I PM'd him and he listed it on Ebay. I watched the sale and nobody met his reserve of 2500 and he just disappeared. PM'd again and no reply. IF I find an engine I will let you know. Maybe we can salvage all that we both need. I would like to have a spare set of sticks here.

Scotty

Hello Scotty, how goes it? I'm kinda looking for a 6.7 for a mad science project as well. Haven't started beating the ground too hard yet though. Seems that stuff comes along when you're not expecting it.

Diffentially a big power engine to build-up. I wonder how much different the head on a 6.7L is from the earlier 24v engines. Jason, my build will be some wild mix of stuff, from various years. Might just only use the crank 6.7 out of the short block.

There are three here in Regina with less then 95,000 KMS on them, complete drop ins...except one is missing the turbo. Price range is 7500-6000.
I was told I can get the one with 88,000 KMS for 6 without a core charge because its missing the turbo. core charge is 1500 but is negotiable. All at SGI salvage in Regina.

All is well here Jason...living well and enjoying the family life.

Whats new with you?

Scotty

Plugging away in the 'patch still-hoping to win the lottery but so far that doesn't seem to be working out for me.....truck is semi-retired to a life of towing trailers, hauling the odd boxload of stuff and backing up the Dakota I use for work now. Thinking it's going to become a dually if I can find a box for it without spending an arm and a leg-I have a tridem tiltdeck gooseneck to recover treasures that would be better served with a dual wheel truck.

I've got a hybrid setup in mind too Mike-take the best of this, the best of that, put it all together and hope it runs . A little Internet poking says the '06 and up CR heads are way better out of the box than the early 24 valve heads-but I don't know if or how much better they are after porting? I'd settle for a 6.7 short block if I could get one cheap and scrounge the head etc. myself down the road. No replacement for displacement, isn't that what they say?

Funny how you bring that up. I just found out that I need a new cylinder head for my project. I hope to get one of those whizzy aftermarket heads, out the box you flow nearing 300cfm at 0.650in lift. A stock CTD head maxes out on flow around 200 cfm at 0.500in lift. The cheapest 24v or CR head I can find is $1500. At that point I have to run 24v lines, and connector tubes. Using that aftermarket head, I can still run 12v stuff. We want to try a couple different things, all in the name of making more power At the end of the day, its just parts.

Rob, I think we can figure something out shortly on that turbo. Brett has a 6.7L turbo that we can get set-up for the VGT and e-brake. We just have to find the right wastegate actuvator and do some adjusting

Should be quite the beast when you get it done. I'm waiting for Fleece's plug-and-play VGT controller for the VP trucks gets released, then I'm going to upgrade to a 6.7 turbo as well. Picked up a Spearco aftercooler for the old girl a couple weeks ago-figure I'll start accumulating parts, then when I tear the front off to change the aftercooler, I'll do a cam and head with it all at once. Hoping to upgrade the towing performance quite a bit.....

I think it going to a diaper (or a aka depends run) run the first run down the track. Just put the motor in tonight. This is one wick set-up. I have to send a big thanks to Brett and Tate. It looks sweat, I can't fit a beer can under the truck.

As for beneifts of running a 12v head, they make some big shower head injectors for the pullers, already.
