Dave, I thought that want the truck to be lowered? You put in new stock springs in the truck will sit higher. You hauling any thing yet in that mint ride of yours? I bet you have lots of spring left still. All I can say is air bags. I put a set in my 1/2 ton for $300 and $200 for the install. I bought an air compressor and in cab dash switch for another $200. On the fly in cab tuning. That truck bottoms out way to ofter, air bags fixed that. They just don't make very tuff 1/2tons any more.

Wink can build you a lighter spring and put in an air bag.

You guys see what Fabtech did with the third gen? Move suspension travel and more rigid placement of the front springs. I wonder how much work it would be to put that into a 2nd gen.

Yes the truck is being lowered...But was thinking that with that many miles, you would think the leafs would be cracked in the middle...Maybe thats not the problem with the heavy trucks....I know with my older cars I had to replace the leafs springs...all where cracked...Some time ago I called about rear air bags and the price was not that bad...

mike ya i can build i lighter spring or you just need a pack out of a 1500 and the bushing kit for it , 2.5 to 3 . one thing if you put lighter stuff in you will need ladder bars in , but that easy and not really alot to build , and they look cool .

I think with the fabtech long arm front end stuff you have to cut off the front spring retainer buckets and the lower control arm bracket. I have to look into what it takes to take that off with damaging the frame. I like to have more travel but have more shock damping on hit and rebound. I'm also thinking about building a bracket to reinforce the tops of the spring retainer buckets. My cousin has a 06 dodge 3500 with pro comp 6in lift and 35in tires. It gave the truck a nice look on a set of 17in toyo open country but he babies his truck.
