any hands free on Sunday
This looked like a great chance to get out and meet some of the locals. I was getting ready to volunteer, and then I checked the dates--
CRAP. Once again a buncha days late, and so many dollars short.
Sorry to have missed on this event. This is right up my alley, lots of brawn, not much brain required. Sounds like it went well enough.
What have you got going on now Luke? F-450? I'm going to have to go looking through recent posts to see what I have missed out on.
Take care all.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAWESOME.
Chevy crewcab body on F-450 chassis, with the Cummins swapped in for good measure? That chassis going to be too short for the crewcab and long box, or did you lengthen the frame?
I have all but dropped the idea of swapping the Cummins out of my old Dodge into the GMC since I scaled the beast with the camper loaded. It's 500 pounds over the GVW with the water tank empty and not much gear. I have been thinking about going with a F-450 crewcab/Cummins, so once again you are working on a similar path to my thoughts. Kinda wierd actually.

yes the chevy crewcab and longbox wheelbase is aproxx 4-6" longer than the F450. but no way am I touching the frame. I'll shave out the need inches from the front of the box.
the series has to go like this. engine set 1st. then the body is set with the front clip on. to match the front wheel openings. then the box goes where it goes. and I'll bob the front edge for however much I need. to hit the duals in the wheel openings.
itll be so nice to have a more manuverable rig as well. the front diff in the F450 has bigger joints in the drive axles with higher operating angle. where as the stock 1ton stuff of OEMs uses smaller joints with lower operating angle. turning radius RULES.

Can you put a short box bed onto the new frame or is that too short? The dually part is just fiberglass right? Neat project, keep the pics coming buddy. I'm going the opposite direction, smaller, lighter.
