97 Paint...

If you guys remember I had you look at the finish on my 97 with that chicken skin type finish to the rest of my truck other than the new side. My father in law (did custom body work in TO for years when younger) took one look at it in the sun and said, "overspray..Lazy painter with too much clear coat."

That being said, I was wondering if the clay bar kit I have from Mcguires that I got for the megacab would take off this stuff or even if its worth it to try. What else would work?

Thoughts?

Thanks!

claybar will take off overspray - depending on how old it is though . . .

if that doesn't work, maybe a power polisher with 'scratch-x' or similar compound will work.

if the clay bar doesn't work, i would consult a professional detailer . . .

Sure looked like not enough clear coat...But I'm no professional painter...If it does have to much clear...Your best bet is coat sand with 2000 grit sandpaper and buff all the clear..

Maybe thats where all the clear went, all over the rest of the truck.. Friggin body repairs.. I have never had any luck with them on any of my vehicles. I wish my Father-in-law still had a shop..

It sure seemed thin on the clear on the box...Must of used way to much gun pressure and instead of clearing the truck, they cleared the shop walls...
