As in would they use the same electronics>? I know that this is a weird place to ask, but there is some pretty smart people. I have a buddy that is looking at a international with the 6.0 but in IH garb.... and he wants to be able to use a programmer on it

No. They are not exactly the same. The DT444E version of software and control systems are slightly different. Funny thing is that the industrial versions of the 6.0 have half the problems of the Ford version.. Figure that..

Electronic controls aside, I believe the hard engines are identical. I've seen an international DT466E with Detroit DDEC electronic. so I'm willing to bet yes you can use a programmer on it.

A big part of the reason that the industrial 6.0 and 7.3 had fewer problems, boils down to the fact that they aren't revving them to the moon to get that elusive HORSEPOWER number that every small membered ford diesel truck owner needs to have, in order to prove their superiority over those of us that are happy with the size and output of our units.

I cannot remember the concrete numbers for those engines in the medium truck segment, but I know they used a different program, delivering the power down low, where it belongs. Problem being, HP is speed, Torque is the prime mover. So the medium truck/industrial units are prime movers, and the pickup version is all about the speed.

this is actually the dt365 engine, but I am sure the same applies. The problem is that it is in a class c motorhome,, rated at only 300 hp and 520 ft lbs... and it is a big class c, and has a large towing capacitity.

Kev, you all ways could put in a 12v. You might even get a few helpers to assist during the install.

The DT365 most likely does not communicate on the same data bus as the programmers do. Ford will use their own Data bus and the industrial will use a different one. It is similar to Dodge using the Cummins engine. The Cummins laptop and program we use at my shop cannot "talk" to my truck engine. Dodge actually puts their own ECM on it.
