92 brake mc leak from cap

I am leaking brake fluid from my cap on my master cylinder. It occurs when I drive in any condition. The mc is fairly new. I noticed the surface between the body an the cap is very pitted and uneven. So much so that the rubber gasket is not able to fill all the cracks. Is there a fix for this or should I buy a new one unlike last time when i bought a reman? It seems as though the surface under the cap should have been milled smooth. Any advice? Thanks

What I do is clean the surface of the Master cylinder with some sandpaper, the brake clean real good, both the mc and the rubber on the cap. Make sure your brake fluid is full in each resivoir. Then use rtv silicone along the top edge of the mc and set the top on and lock er down and no more leaks!!

Have you tried to lower the fluid level a little? Lets say 1/4"-3/8".
And welcome to the site!

I've run in to that prob lately too. I lightly sandpapered the MC top and then cut some 1/32 rubber the shape of the perimeter of the top about 1/2" wide. Cleaned the rubber on the top and that i cut and then RTV siliconed that in place inside the top. Let dry for a half hour and then placed back on the MC and voila. No more leaks.

It would be nice if there was a MC with a plastic resevoir that would
interchange.
