Two small wires off battery negative?

So some **** squirrels got into my engine bay and destroyed my battery covers and a few wires. One wire was an easy fix as it was for my air bag pump (that' how I noticed as it wasn't working). But they also chewed through the 2 very small wires coming off the drivers side battery (coming out of a block off the post then going into the main harness). Not sure what these do as I haven't noticed any problems yet...not sure when this happened. But it's not an easy fix as they chewed the wires off at the plug so I can't splice back together. So my two questions are:
  1. What do those 2 wires do?
  2. If I buy a new plug will it come with lead wires out of it? Or how can I repair this?

Not sure what they do but you could crimp a lug with a hole large enough to go over the battery clamp bolt then just re-tighten it up.

Yeah, I thought that would be the simplest solution but the way the "distribution block" for the plug looked wasn't sure if I was bypassing anything. I figure a "ground is a ground" but on new vehicles these days you never know.

Okay, that wasn't just a ground connection. Pretty sure if was the battery sensor since it blew a fuse for that when I tied them together and attached them to the post. I knew it looked more complicated than that for them to have this fancy extra connection to the post for 2 little wires.

And of coarse this truck uses some new style fuse that I don't have any. I swear, they switch fuse styles every few years just to mess with people. At least it isn't causing any major issues with it not being hooked up.

I recently changed out both batteries on the 2013 but didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, next time I see the truck I'll take a closer look.
