"Light Load" button

I know this has been discussed, to a degree, on here, but No one has explained just how to turn the "Light Load" feature off. I have plenty of air in all tires (60#) but that darned low air light keeps warning me. This has happened before, and, if I remember right, I had to turn the ig. switch to "on" (w/o starting truck) and press the L.L. button, then it would stay lit, meaning that I'm NOT hauling a load.

The manual is a useless waste of a good tree.

Can anyone help me on this?

Thanx in advance.

Look at the label inside the drivers door. It will tell you how much air is required for Light Load and Heavy loading. Once you set the pressure within those specs your light load light will go off after driving for a little while.

You must make sure the spare is set at the right PSI. They have the same TPMS.

that makes no sense. how is the sensor in the spare tire going to transmit a signal if it is stationary and doesnt turn? If a spare has a tpms in it, its not going to matter how much air is in the tire until it is placed on one of four wheels, it turns, and the computer/ monitor picks up on it

I dont have TPMS on my Dodge.. but thats how it worked on my other TPMS rigs... Spare was the culprit 90% of the time. The spinning is a myth.

Agreed, my Jeep will display a low tire upon initial start-up before it rolls anywhere.

"NOTE: Your vehicle is equipped with a non-matching
full size spare wheel and tire assembly.
1. This spare tire does not have a tire pressure monitoring
sensor. Therefore, the TPMS will not monitor the tire
pressure in the spare tire"

actually the spinning isnt a myth... some vehicles ecu will montior wheel speed and compare it to the others. but if u have a tpms system and u have a tpms sensor in ur spare then the ecu will moniter it.

Turn key off, back on, don't start ... press light load button ... front at 60 and rear at least at 45 you'll be good.

I do not have a 2010, but I do have a 2008 3/4 ton with TPMS on it. By the way only 3/4 ton and smaller have this feature. Another reason to by a 1 ton SRW truck "o- well".
My TPMS light and warning will come on every winter when I air done the the rear tires to 45PSI. Durning the summer when pulling the camper I am at 70 PSI on the rears and the light will go out.
I have read on other sites that you need to go to the dealer and have them reset the lower air limits in the ECM for the TPMS. Set the limit below 40 PSI then the light will be off. I will not go the the dealer to reset the ECM because I have moded the truck.

By the way you can thank FORD and Firestone for this another JOB 1.
