took the truck in to get the service bulletin completed for this fix but they are as confused as me. The bulletin says there is a USB port connection located in the passenger glove compartment. Connection illuminates when ignition/accy is on.

Can anyone point out exactly where the above USB port is, we cant find it. They also state not to use the USB port on the radio.

Thanks

Mine is in the upper glove box on the left hand side. Not sure if it illuminates or not.

I pretty sure the one you are looking at is not a USB, I have the same one and it's for hooking up an iphone or laptop device. Thanks for the reply.

If im not mistaken the 730n radios have a proprietary connection for the phone/iPod setup and the 430n (which I have) has a USB connection for the phone/iPod/flashdrive connection.

I think it's a model year or build date thing...I have a 730something and have the usb but they included the funky connector. Took the dealer some calling around to figure it out but finally found out they switched over to usb at some point and someone just through the cable in there out of habit (or bad communication).

Got a fix

My dealer called, the 2011 2500 Laramie Mega with NAV radio does not have USB in glovebox. As it turns out, for the older model 2011 trucks, they require a radio (HFM) update that is completed via a CD. My dealer just got it in and i will have it updated in the morning. Hope it does not clear my music, but I can deal with it if my phone works.

Thanks All.

Hey John,

I was going to call ya this morning but sounds like your dealer beat me to it. My buddy did the update on mine last night (even though I don't have iphone) as mine was just shutting off and rebooting. so far no reboot

EDIT- I did not lose any music either

you have a 2011 late model. I'm just telling you what was told to me. I dont have one, the only plug i have in the upper glovebox left side is a direct plug in for a iphone type device....NO USB!

It will all be fixed tomorrow with the dealer CD update.
