Driving in the snow?
Ya its summer but I'm upgrading to a 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 Crew Cab long box from a 2007 short box just wondering how the longer handles the snow/slush on the highway compared to the short bed, does the electronic stability work well?
Looking for some opinions/experience. Assume no towing and an empty box with studded winters.

Hello Piston bully, it has been my expirence that a longer wheel base handles better regaurdless of electronic stability. the longer wheel base vehicles aren't as twitchy, they tend to come around slower when the rear kicks out. I have yet to get a chance to test the electronic satbility on my truck, but it plus the long wheel base should be a winning combination -Ace-

Just drive the Pisten-Bully* in the snow and no problems
Ok, ok..back on topic. As you know, tires are everything. I've had Hankook Dynapro AT-Ms on the last two trucks- solid as can be in the snow.
(*I worked in engineering at LMC until they went under. Great 'cats but I believe only Bombardier ever ran the mighty Cummins in a snow cat.)

2012 megacab 4x4 SRW CTD stock tires sucks in snow in 4x4 limited slip rear end. Back end will not stay planted. Overnight snow will cause truck to be stuck in morning during 2012 light snow season in mammoth Calif.. It is going to get real ugly when we get some real weather in the winter. In 30 years around these parts, I have never had to put chains on any of my 4x4 vehicles. I may need to rethink that for this winter. DRW must help getting some weight on the back end and thus some grip.

Yeah, well known that the stock Michelin's absolutely stink in the snow. I replaced them immediately with Hankook DynaPro ATMs. Never been stuck in this truck or my last one w/Hankooks and I drive a lot of roads before the plow gets there in the morning.
