Hey guys, in order to get mine to "snap on" I had to snap one side on first then the other. Would not snap if I tried to do both sides at the same time.

This is a great mod the burning question is why didn't the factory do it? I did mine just after getting the truck and have been trying to do my sons ever since he's just never here. I am curious as to how long the wix filters last if doing mostly gravel roads?

just changed my filter at 6000 miles of use. 99% pavement but we live in a dirt hole anyways. filter was nasty, airflow was about 50% of what it should be. changed filter and bam! good to go

Thanks for the replies.Wow 6000ml and mostly pavement, my other vehicles that stay off gravel I change around 40,000km 25,000ml. I'll check my trucks filter at the first oil change and see what it's like. Perhaps because the weather here is 8 months of winter and 3 months of tough sledding there's not much dust in the air. My son's truck will be a different story he does almost all gravel, he might be changing his every week or two in the summer, this could be the reason the factory didn't install one. I will have to find a better supplier for the filters. Amsoil handles wix but they don't have a listing for this particular filter.

Went to buy some new 24578 Wix filters today from the same place I got the last 3 from less than 2 months ago. The price has jumped from $17:XX to $44:XX I told them to keep them. I stopped in at NAPA they have the same Wix filter for $13:XX but they don't recognize the first number so just use 4578.

Discount Fleet Supply has the Wix for $6.62. They are located in Georgia, so it costs a little more to ship to CA. I ordered 4 of them for $36 shipped.
