ok..this could get heated...

So I learned from the dealer that if your VIN Starts with a

Number 1. Its made in the United States
Number 2. Its made in Canada
Number 3. Its made in Mexico


So here is my question. Of course I want mine made in the United States but I was told that the best quality comes from Mexico.

Not sure what he is basing that on. What do you think.

Wouldn't that be an interesting study to see if there is in fact a country that puts out better quality. I found out my last Dodge was made in Mexico when I ran the vin one day. I was sad to see that my Dodge was made in Mexico.

all of the Dodges that I could find at my local dealers (after knowing the vin thing) are made in Mexico.

 

all HD's are made in Mexico currently from what i understand. At least the ones sold in the US. not sure about Canada

 

ok...i did edit my original post. I took out the word Almost....actually all of them did start with a 3....made in Mexico....

 

My 05 2500 crew cab was made in Mexico, says so on the door. After driving it for a week, I am pleased to find no squeaks or rattles. I believe only standard cabs are still built in the U.S. but I have been known to be wrong.
