2014 Laramie Mirror (glass only) removal
2014 Laramie Mirror (glass only) removal
Picked up a new Laramie, great truck, bells and whistles and all that- but the thing is covered in chrome and I'm not much of a chrome guy. I've blacked out all of it with Plasti-Dip, except for the caps on the side view mirrors. The only way to gain access to remove them that I've found was from a 2012, guy said to basically just tilt the mirror down and pull it out of the housing to expose the screws holding the cap on. I'm a bit hesitant to try this with the motors and heater element that's in there, a phone call to the local service dept didn't yield any advice. Does anyone know how these things are put together?
Dealer here told me once they're in that's it and they usually break pulling them out. Maybe try a body shop or collision repair place for some tips as they will have much more experience than the dealer who would just rather sell you a new mirror.
