2013 3500 Diesels

Has anyone seen a new 3500 in their dealerships yet? I see all sorts of info from several dealers in my area that they are being shipped but nothing to date.

2013 will be almost over by the time they get here and I wonder why they didn't re-badge them as 2014's?

Marketing is definitely not Ram's strong suite...They pumped out a million 2012's to flood lots with outdated trucks and then don't have their ducks in enough of a row to build the new product or are holding back because dealers lots are still full.

I'd like to get some feedback on the new trucks and see how they work as I wouldn't mind trying one eventually.

The dealer closest to me is set to get one on May 6th. Some guy special ordered it back in January and got fed up with how it was taking to arrive so he picked up a 2012 instead. This checks with what I've read elsewhere online.

I was at my dealer the other day and asked the New Car Manager who I have known for years and he tells me that none have been built yet, due to the sheer number of 2012's that they built.

This dealer has several 3/4 ton 2013's with diesel engines but they are hidden in their satellite lots until the 2012's have been sold. He would have brought one out if I had wanted to see one. They all have the upgraded transmissions.

He also stated that the one tons may be re-badged as 2014's. Don't know where he got that info, but does make sense.

Your dealer lied to you. My 2013 3500 is sitting at the dealer right now waiting on the bedliner and hitch.

What kind of hitch? Do you mean the factory Goose/5ver hitch that's only rated at 17,000lbs or something else.

Lied to me? Pretty strong there sport. Is it possible he was talking about Canadian delivered trucks? I never asked him this question and maybe I should have. Enjoy your truck.

What gets me is that the 2012 is last year and they are not bugging on the prices, the time they sell off the 2012 it will be 2014 and still want full price!!!!

Down here I've seen advertised $14k off sticker on 2012s.

Maybe they are not delivering to Canada yet. They are showing up here now (tx).

Most car dealers in the US are known to be notoriously misinformed, or, they just lie. In either case, you can't believe what they tell you.

Most people that read these forums know more about the new trucks than the dealers . I am going through hell trying to figure out how to use the factory hitch prep package that needs a Mopar adapter to be able to use fifth wheel hitches. Mopar does not even make the adapter yet.

Ram in all their wisdom decided that using the same puck pattern as Ford would be too easy and allow us to just drop in a Reese Elite hitch. So now we improvise.

I am worried about what is going to show up as regards hitches, I don't see the point of ordering a heavy duty truck that can't pull much and with it being a new design the hitch manufacturers won't have anything ready to go, a 17,000lb goose/5ver hitch just doesn't cut it.
