2010 Drag link

Ok DTR

My Father bought a 2010 2500 Cmmins 5 months ago thing is it has a factory lift on it. BAD THING: The drag link bolt that goes to the pitman arm snaped do to a drop pitman arm not being put in. Dealer says the part is on back order and that is after the truck has been there 3 weeks. What can I tell the old man to do or ask????????

O and it is the old mans truck that will be pulling the fith wheel to elk camp in 2 weeks.

thanks

If it were my truck I would replace the parts on my own. There are plenty of aftermarket parts around, as well as used ones to get the job done. As far as the dealer taking so long, that is terrible. It takes no time to order parts on the dealer system. Have you tried to call around to parts stores? You can also attempt to call MOOG directly to give them the vehicle information to see if they have an applicable part.

You might benefit from complaining, but, if the dealer cared, would they have waited 3 weeks in the 1st place? Good luck with the situation and let us know what happens.

Check to see if your truck qualifies for Dodges Business link program. If it does call them and they will take care of you. I was told that my truck couldn't be looked at for 2 weeks. I called them at 4 and the dealer had an answer before 5 on my truck. HD trucks are supposed to get priority when they come to the shop under business link. You dealer is supposed to tell us that and explain the program. Mine didn't but I remembered reading it.
They will also supply a rental car at no expence to you for the time the truck is down.
