Smile 16 inch rims on 2010 6.7L

I want to increase my tire load capacity to accomodate my camper. I can get 3915# capacity with 285-75-16E tires. My current BFG TA KO's are 265-70-17 and are great but have a 3195# weight rating.

Rear axle load is 6545# on a certified scale, this puts me over limit.

Questions:

1. Will the wider and taller tires fit without conflict.

2. Are earlier year one ton dodge 16 inch rims available in the same bolt pattern. The rim needs to be rated at 80 psi.

I really like the 3500 LB 6.7, could get better mileage, but.

Thanks

Wont work.

17" wheels are needed to clear the brakes.

Will the 285/70R17E tires cause interference? I do not want to lift the truck since its main use is to carry the camper and occasionally haul bark dust for the yard or other hauling duties.

It shouldn't.

Standard tire
265/70R17 = 32.6 X 10.4

Upsizing tire
285/70R17 = 32.7 X 11.2
295/70R17 = 33.2 X 11.6

I used Nitto Dura Grapplers in 285/75R17E (128R Rating) on my 2006 with ZERO clearance or handling issues. Very capable tire for mostly highway driving, performing well in rain and snow.

As stated above, 16" wheels will not clear the larger brakes installed on the trucks since 2003.

Standard 265/70/17's are 31.6" tall. The 1" will fit perfectly. But man will they be spendy.

Another line to pursue to get higher tire capacity. 277/65/18 E rated 3415#.

Saw 18" rims at tire rack, most said "agressive fitment, need lift or fender modification". Some rims did not include this comment.

Gosh don't want to go the 19.5" route, the rims alone are more than $800 and then $1.5K for tires, major ouch.

Need to learn about offet and what the side effects of more offset has on the load carrying capacity. Trying to carry a fairly heavy load with a camper.
