Do not drive your truck without a dpf delete capable tuner or Sims (if they are available), your truck will go into limp mode. You can disconnect the EGR but you will get a cel. You will probably see an improvement in your fuel mileage but you will be unable to use remote start if you have it.

True, but disconnecting the EGR plug shouldn't void your warranty (CEL is gone a few key cycles after you plug it back in), but returns significantly better MPGs. Best of both worlds.

Very true as well. I was ready to be my own warranty station... now if someone would create a diagnostic scan tool, for a reasonable price, to t/s and reprogram (if needed) every system on the truck, then there would never be a reason to visit the dealer.

To piggy back on the potential gains in mileage with the EGR disconnected I got 16-18 mpg on average over about 1500 miles whereas before with the EGR connected I averaged 13-15 mpg over roughly the same distance. With the dpf gone, I average high 16-18s with my max to date being 22.7mpg. So for me the true benefit is that the engine no longer "creates" oil.

I agree, was hoping I could do that without a tuner. At least until my warranty runs out.
