Removing Mag-hytec transmission pan

Truck is in my shop....attempting to service transmission.....leaving (towing heavy) in the morning. I have all the bolts out, fluid drained, and CAN NOT get the **** pan off. Silicone gasket was used to install 50,000 miles ago, and it will not break loose. I have tried for an hour to gently pry, but it wont budge. Any tricks? Worst case I could always put the plug back in, refill trans fluid, and hope I didn't break the seal. But, I really need to service before I leave. THANKS!

When you do get it off, don't use silicone sealant when you put it back on. I had the Mag-Hytec pan on my '01 47RE and always used the black neoprene rubber gaskets that come with the filter. Never had any problems removing the pan and never had a pan gasket leak. My pan came off every 15,000 miles for filter replacement and band adjustments. I put over 150,000 miles on that setup before I traded that truck off, so the pan was off at least 10 times.
