Full delete and got a code on the Smarty jr

I hooked the Smarty up to the truck and shows a p040d Exhaust gas recirculation temp sensor 1 circuit high.I clear it out and it comes back.I thought the smarty kept it from doing that.Any ideas?

It could be a few different issues anywhere from wiring to the PCM. Hopefully it is none of those and simply your Smarty not being very smart lol.

Here are some troubleshooting instructions you can try, but I would return to stock first and reload your not so smart Smarty tune to see if that fixes it.

P040D Troubleshooting - See the attached PDF Instead.

Let me know if you need more help and I can see what I can dig up.

No offense intended with the "not so smart Smarty" comment. I just got home from work...and only got a couple hours of sleep last night before going in, so I was just trying to be funny lol

How long did you run the truck before you got the code?

Just did my deletes, wrapped it up today. Had the cts up and running before I started and checked codes yesterday, had none. This afternoon I programmed the truck and did everything needed and went for a drive. Everything seems to work great but I did another code read on the cts and got the same code as you mentioned. P040D. I thought the smarty was supposed to take care of that?

Did they mention any time frame for the fix?
What does it mean as far as driving the truck while it is throwing this code?

Thanks

been on the phone with mads and they are having me try a few things...
reloaded the program when the truck is at operating temperature - did not fix the code

plugging the egt sensor back into the connecter by the egr valve - fixed the code but thru another code

plugging the egt sensor back into the connector by the downpipe - did nothing but thru the original code

seems like nice guys and will call them tomorrow and see what they come up with.
