Delete or Don't Delete
Delete or Don't Delete
Hi All!
I have a 2010 Ram 3500 6.7 L with just at 210,000 miles. About a year ago and some miles, The check engine light came on . The code referred to the EGR valve. The valve and the cooler both were cleaned. It runs fine for the most part but throws the code ever so often. When it does come on it will always be off the next time I start it up and I can go many weeks without it coming on. I decided I was going to replace the valve but I got some advice from a mechanic friend who suggests I do a delete kit. First I'd like any pro's and con's that I may want to consider from those who have done this. Plus, I don't want to break forum rules so if its allowed, can anyone suggest the best way for me to find the right shop to do the delete kit?

I think to save you from added cost, don't delete. Just keep a note when you cleaned the valve and the cooler. You'll get used to that check engine light. However, if you want to get rid of the annoying light you really need to do a delete kit. Pros is you get to start fresh and cons is not knowing if there'll be another issue after doing a delete kit. I may not be much of a help but just my .02 cents. Your truck your rules. As long as it is running fine, it's cool.
