will have to buy the remote start module and it is located behind the upper dash and wire runs over to the ignition switch and just plugs in. also will need new key fobs with remote start button. then you will have to go to dealer to have them turn that function on inside the TIPM. the tipm will see the module but not know what do do.

Not sure how the new trucks will behave, but unless someone chimes in and says otherwise I caution you plugging anything in...especially if it will require the dealer to program anything. I did a similar thing to my '02 1/2 ton. As soon as I plugged the module in that goes near the ignition, the ecm detected it then locked everything out preventing it from running until the dealer programmed it and the keys. Had to have it towed. I think the module that plugged into the back of the instrument cluster was okay to run w/o dealer involvement, but the ignition module that reads the key/fob is what disabled the engine since they were not programmed to the truck.
Good but annoying safety feature if you ask me. I would be surprised if they changed that.

The only thing you have to have is remote door locks. If you have that opiton then you can have the remote start added for about 550 installed by dealer. The kit comes with two new key FOBs and you throw your old ones away.
The down side is that you will still not be able to start it with a smart phone. For that opition to work it has to be installed when the truck is built for some unknown reason.
6.7L is 100% correct in that if you install it your self you will have to have it towed to a dealer for programing.

I would not spend the money on a factory command start the range is shitty. if you are going to spend the money and are not on a tight budget, I would put in an after market remote start with the Viper SMART START add on module. Then you have unlimited range on the starter. A buddy of mine just got a 2014 1500 and had this done and the seats and steering wheel still turns on with the starter just like the factory install.
