I've read lots of threads on deletes, but thought I would ask so I don't screw up something.
NO money for tuner.
Plan on dpf pipe to rid the dpf filter and NOX
300 ohm Sims for the connectors.
Just unplug the EGR
Don't care if CEL shows. A little black tape will solve that and I have a scanner to check now and then for new codes.
Will this work?
Thanks

OK, just so I am not confused, you have a 50K dollar truck that you don't care if the CEL light (Check Engine) is showing. What if some other malfunction occurs? How will you know that there are issues?
I would recommend doing nothing until you can get a tuner. The benefits associated with performing the deletes is truly maximized by the tuner. Are you concerned with warranty?
Sorry to sound harse but I just do not want you to do a "Half-A--" job and then be dissatisfied.

I have a scanner so I can check for codes. And I'm meticulous with maintenance and pretty aware of unusual conditions that would need attention.
Because insurance didn't cover, I'll be paying off medical bills for long time. But I want truck to run right

My recommendation...
Do the exhaust deletes as you plan. Toss the sims in the trash.
Install a tuner on a mild or stock setting. Leave the engine deletes alone.
Enjoy increased fuel economy, engine longevity and drive-ability.
Should, should, something happen reinstall exhaust. Remove tuner. Play dumb.
Whats a tuner, will the AM stations come in better?. Why is there so many mufflers under this truck? Diesel is the one with the green handle right?
See where Im going here.

It should work. Ran my 08 like that for over a year. Only difference was I had the Edge Juice with Attitude and had it set to clear the codes on startup.

Have you considered looking at the electronics from DPF-R? It is only $395 and cheap "insurance" when removing the DPF. An acquaintance of mine from Montana somehow got Chrysler to pay for the DPF delete and electronics from DPF-R due to the dozen+ problems he was having with his '08 MC. The dealer installed it for him as part of the warranty and he has had nothing but good to say about it.
Thanks MegaCab,
I found the DPF-R at alligator performance.
Hoever, James at RollinSmokeDiesel had what I needed - the dpf / nox delete pipe with bungs and the SIMS made by SHibby. H&S no longer makes the SIMS. SO call James.
Cheers,
Jim

6.7 I dont think the DPF-R will work on the '11 and '12 trucks.
Jim, good luck on getting the hardware off. Make sure you have some help its quite a job for one person. Youll be a lot happier once its all done.
