Air Lift Load Controller Installed
While at my parents' house over Christmas my dad and I pulled my truck into his shop and spent a few hours on a father/son project installing my Air Lift Load Controller. Since putting the Air Lift bags in a month or so ago I've been anxious to get the in cab controls in place.
I searched and searched to find a good place for the gauge. I really wanted to flush mount it in the dash somewhere for a clean factory look but the only two places I found were either vertically or horizontally right beneath the 4WD selector switch. The vertical part of the dash wouldn't work. It was just too difficult to get behind. The horizontal part would have been easy but due to the shape of the "bracing" behind it I couldn't have centered the gauge in the spot so I chose not to do that. After playing with different options above the dash, below the dash and on the pillar I eventually settled on mounting the gauge inside the main compartment of the center console. It took a lot of considering before I settled on this location, but once I got it installed I was pretty happy with it. It's easy to read, easy to reach, out of the way and not sticking up or out on my dash anywhere.
Finding a location to mount the compressor took some thinking as well. My original thought was that I'd mount it to the frame, but the directions specifically stated that it needed to be in a dry place. I ended up bolting a 1x4 inside the bottom of the floor pocket behind my driver seat and screwing the compressor to the 1x4. From beneath the truck I drilled a hole on the back side of the pocket for the electrical and air lines to get out.
So far I'm pretty happy with the location of both the gauge/controller and the compressor. I have a leak somewhere that I need to find and repair, but over all I'm happy with the way the system operates. Here's a couple of pics...

Nice! Looks like you spent some time and put some thought into this. Looks real good. I have some air bags and some mounting brackets off an old 07 Duramax I had a couple yrs. ago I may try to install on my 2012. Got my HBS 2'' leveling kit for front with PRO RUNNER shocks in today.
