It has been 1,000 miles since I did the Cali delete on my Mega. Here are the things I have noticed since deleting:
1. Fuel economy has imrpoved from 17.8 l/100km (per evic) to 13.3 l/100km (per evic). This has probably been the single greatest improvement.
2. EGT is lower, I am averaging around 625, 700 at 60 mph.
3. No regens
4. better throttle response
5. reduced performance from eb (was expected)
6. occasional puffs of black smoke
The last point has me in a bit of a puzzle. After running the truck if I shut it off and restart it before it fully cools, It feels like as if it is not getting enough air. That is when I notice the smoke. I am not smoking out the heghbiourhood, but it is noticable in the side mirror. Perhaps the TV is sticking?
Also under heavy acceleration sometimes I'll notice a reduction of power, similar to defueling or not enough air type sensation. With this condition there is no smoke.
I am not sure if this is normal with the cali style delete. The truck is not throwing any codes and the Smarty is set to SW 1.
Has anyone else experienced the same thing?

I have the same set-up as you do, and occasionally I've noticed the lack of power too. I've always just reloaded the program and it's back to normal. Yesterday I unplugged the EGR and TV and the EB works awesome again! Not sure if this will cure the sudden power loss issue, but at least the EB works as its supposed to. I'll keep you updated if it fixes the sluggish feeling.

Yep, EGR plug zip tied out of the way, and no CEL so far. I dont think you can gut the TV. You can buy a TV delete. Both Shibby and Glacier make really nice TV delete set up's for under $80 if I remember correctly.
If you're worried about the TV closing you can take the cover off and remove the white nylon gear. A spring keeps the valve open. It's my understanding that the software should keep it open anyway.
I have about 10k since I did the deletes and have been reloading my tune every week since to deal with the loss of power. Here is what I have been told:
1. This issue only impacts manual (G56) pickups.
2. In 2011 Chrystler added a low fuel pressure sensor which is creating the issue
3. The only known solution is to add an after market fuel pump to keep fuel pressure up.
Have any of you heard this?

On another forum some individuals were unplugging their egr and tv after delete to deal with the power loss issue with some success. I`ll be trying that later this afternoon when I drive the truck. I`ll post the results.
My understanding is that smarty does not require the disconnect of egr or tv as the programming takes care of those functions so I am curious to see what will happen.

My truck has a 68rfe, so that dispells that myth. I thought you could leave the egr and tv alone on 4th gens too, but I think it varies from truck to truck. Mine has been working flawless since I unplugged that crap
Now, I installed the gauges before I deleted to get a bit of a baseline for boost and egt. Anytime the regen was on egts were very high, but there was no boost. To see anything you had to really step on it. Once the regen was done boost went back to normal, which probably has something to do with the tv.
I'm thinking that as the TV and EGR is connected, even though the smarty electronically shuts them off, the TV and EGR are in all likely hood active.
You also mentioned that once you disconnected the tv and egr the EB started working better. I wonder what eb function folks with complete deletes are experiencing.
So I disconnected the egr and tv this morning and went for a drive, about 40 miles. This is definitely the way to. No power loss, better throttle response and boost builds much quicker. So although smarty does not require a disconnect of the egr and tv, my truck runs much better with those two item disconnected.
* *there was no "I think I wet my pants" icon so I had to with "yuk" instead.

Anyhow, if she continues as she is now I'll be ok with it. I only have it set to SW1. Down the road I want to loose the egr cooler and tv so I wander if anyone that has a full delete experience the same power loss using a Smarty as some of us experience with a Cali deletew?.
I just finished the full deletes last week dpf, throttle valve, egr and cooler....also have the smarty set on 1 and have had no issues with power loss, put 500 miles on since finishing and the truck is alive with power just on the standard setting and got 20 mpg hand calculated on the highway crusing at 70....
so maybe the complete removal is the answer?
good Luck
