Mornin, DTR.
One of my friends has a 15 and the EGR has already took a poo. I know with the older trucks (07.5 and up) you could block off and unplug the EGR pretty easy... is this the case with the new trucks?
TIA

Mark:
One other point for your friend to consider. IF he "deletes" his truck just as soon as he restarts it, he will set a "hard code" within the trucks ECM/PCM which Chrysler CAN see with their DRB scanners. It cannot be "erased" and if he has an engine related problem and Chrysler sees that, his factory warranty is
GONE!!! I guarantee it Mark! Dodge has gotten REAL tough on the emissions
systems on the new diesel trucks (all brands) but Chrysler/Dodge is especially bad on it. Another point is say he does delete it and then has an engine problem. Many 4th Gen Dodge CTD CR Owners are telling new owners that all they have to do "Is put the truck back to stock." WRONG again.
Once that code is "set" that isn't going to help either.
As Cincy already pointed out, a complete DELETE now is expensive. The actual DELETE parts aren't that bad but you need a "tuner" to take OUT the stock tune and put in a "tune" that removes the emission commands. And it is illegal for the aftermarket diesel shops to sell those in the U.S. now, so Canada is one option and they soak the customers BIG TIME!
Hope that helps you some Mark.
